This is a detail from one of the illustrations in the 2001 edition of The Folio's Society's The Consolation of Philosophy. The original illustrations graced Jean de Meung's 1476 translation of De Consolatione Philosophiae, and now reside in The British Library.
This illustration depicts the two sides of Fortune--prosperity.on her right hand and poverty on her left. In the lower left corner, Lady Philosophy is explaining the vicissitudes of Fortune to Boethius.
